Alas, as of today, I am still not a prize-winning essayist. My submissions to the WIPOUT competition (in the form of The Intellectual Slave and Current Thoughts on Intellectual Property) were not amongst the winning entries. Frankly, I'm disappointed: I thought my essays stood up rather well. I also entered The Trouble With Having Rights in the corresponding WIPO essay competition, but the list of entries doesn't even acknowledge that there was an entry from Australia, let alone offer me a prize. Conspiracy theorists, make of that what you will. I haven't read any of the other WIPO essays at this time: it would be interesting to see whether there were any that were mildly critical of the status quo in IP law as mine was. I lack the time for such an investigation at the moment, however.
