Hello folks. As will be obvious to the loyal reader who checks my site daily, I haven't been terribly active in terms of updates lately. Such is life, I'm afraid. I won't bore with details, but the quick summary is that I've had other stuff on my plate, and I haven't felt inspired to write for Nutters recently.
If anyone's had difficulty reaching the site lately, blame my cable modem. It's been acting up horribly, dropping somewhere between 50% and 90% of packets when it gets in a bad mood. My provider suggested I try powering it down for a few minutes, then plug it back in. That seemed to work, but I'm not entirely convinced. If the situation doesn't improve, I may put the hard word on them for a replacement.
My previous log entry, The Intellectual Slave, was actually a submission for the WIPOUT Intellectual Property Counter-Essay Contest. The competition is in reaction to an essay competition promoted by WIPO. I may still submit to the WIPO competition, since I qualify as an entrant, but time is running out if I'm to do so. The WIPOUT promoters assume that an essay which is unfriendly to Intellectual Property Rights in general will not have a chance of winning the WIPO competition. If I entered the WIPO competition, it would be (as usual) simply because I felt like writing the essay anyhow.
I've had a little feedback on The Oracle from The Matrix, and I do intend to post a follow-up to it soon. More feedback is welcomed. December is looking like it will be a better month for Nuttering. I still have university deadlines to meet for now.
